A strong armored and shielded frontline to soak arrows and arty fire, monstrous units backing up damage dealers to cut through infantry, fast units with a slowdown effect to tackle cav and artillery, a tough-ass support unit, a strong caster who can hold their own in melee, and a damage-dealing hero who can tackle enemy lords. Total War: Warhammer brought the Total War series to a fantasy setting, mixing normal troops with magic, monsters and an expanded character system. This will protect you from pretty much every strategy that the enemy can come at you with. Total War: Warhammer is a turn-based/real-time strategy video game developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA, based in Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy universe. I find my ideal mid-late game twenty-stack with them is my General, Skinwolf Werekin, Fimir Balefiend (Fire), 3-4 units of Marauder Champions, 3-4 units of Berserkers to shred infantry, 1-2 units of Fimir Warriors (Great Weapons) to weaken heavy armor, 1-2 units of Skinwolves (armored if possible) and an equal number of Ice Wolves to negate cavalry, a Warshrine Mammoth, and then round out the rest with either Marauder Hunters (Javelins) - can never have too many of them - and the Ice Forged Legion RoR if I can manage it. Only thing they're lacking is artillery, heavy cav (made up for with the best monsters in the game), and long-range ranged units (Hunters w/ Javelins are so unfair though it doesn't matter). As others have said, Norsca has one of the most balanced rosters in the game.
